Pygmalion House Design is a boutique professional design team based in Elmira and serving Waterloo, Kitchener, Guelph, and region with over 15 years of experience in interior design and over 28 years in exterior design. We offer services tailored to our clients' homes, styles, and budgets, ranging from consultations to all-inclusive project management.

Like most creative types, the need to make and shape my world was there from the start. Colour has always been important to me, the way it can make you look as well as feel, and as a child I had very definite ideas about what was and wasn't aesthetically pleasing. I loved to express this through sewing, art, and decorating, and growing up in Montreal was inspiring with its fashion, architecture, and shopping.
Our family garden center business, founded by my grandfather, marked my 25-year foray into landscape design. My husband, Dave, and I also owned and operated a home decor wholesale manufacturing company for 17 years, during which we created and designed home decor products for the gift trade. Attention to detail and quality while working under tight schedules was our forte. It was also an exciting challenge to add to and sometimes totally reinvent our product line every four years to keep things fresh and interesting for our customers.
Over the last thirty years Dave and I have also renovated five of our own homes, inside and out. Each has had a distinct style and the decor to suit the period of the house - but always with a twist, to keep the look interesting and fresh. For me it was an evolution of tastes, and the opportunity to live in different styles and colours. For Dave it has been meeting the challenges that old as well as new homes bring. Finding solutions to a problem has evolved into the phrase, "Can you MacGyver that?" Bringing the vision to life for one his most demanding clients (c'est moi) has been hard work, but a lot of fun. We both bring this commitment and dedication to our clients as well - we never get tired of hearing them say, "I love it!"
